Review of March 20, 2018 Minutes

Announcements/Updates

a. The Oregon State University Library (OSUL) provided another update on the timeline for the Library’s strategic planning process. OSUL anticipates requesting the Committee’s feedback in mid-May. The Committee will schedule another meeting at that time to meet this need.

b. Undergraduate recipients for the 2017/18 Library Undergraduate Research Awards program have now been selected and a public announcement will be sent out in the upcoming week.

c. The Valley Library will host the 2018 Ecampus graduation ceremony.

Review Draft of the Committee’s Report to the Faculty Senate

a.  The committee had an open discussion on the current state of the draft report. The committee was in consensus that the closing section should be used to advocate for maintaining the Library Committee in its present form with recommendations for improving its functioning moving forward.

b. Remaining tasks were outlined as follows:

     1.  Emily will craft a Google document for online commenting.

2. Enrique agreed to take a first pass at crafting in the concluding paragraphs and recommendations based on the committee’s discussion.

3. Comments will be collected from the Committee for a week before the final report is sent to the Faculty Senate.

New Business

a. The estimated timeline for the next meeting is mid- to late-May based on the status of OSUL’s strategic planning process.
