Transfer Credit Issues

  • Proposal has been sent to the community colleges
    • Linn-Benton Community College is asking to extend to Winter 2022
      • The rationale for the extension they’re asking for Summer and Fall makes sense. The committee agrees to compromise and will extend the deadline until Fall 2022.

Course Proposals

  • Discussion Needed
    • PS 455/555 – Contemporary Global Issues (CGI)
      • All concerns were addressed
      • Is discussion a valid method of assessment for on-campus courses?
        • On-campus students are using CANVAS discussion boards.
          • It would be nice to see what the discussion board questions are?
          • How are they graded?
        • How assignments are graded and assessed on the Ecampus syllabus is somewhat unclear.
          • Motion to roll back – discussion boards need to be assessed for a particular outcome in both syllabi/modalities and to make sure that CIM answers are reflected in the syllabi; seconded. Motion passes with 10 in favor, none against. Two abstentions.
    • RNG 470 – Contemporary Global Issues
      • Resubmitted within 24 hours but there do not appear to be any changes on the syllabus. It doesn’t look like any major changes were made in CIM, either.
      • Still does not show how pastoral systems of the world qualifies as a contemporary global issue.
      • Recommend pre-requisite – they do not address concerns about success of students who do not take the recommended pre-requisite.
      • Motion to rollback to clarify recommended pre-requisite and contextualize fit in CGI; seconded. Motion passes with 10 in favor, none against. One abstention.
  • No Discussion Needed
    • MUED 400 – WIC
      • Approved with no discussion needed
