  • CS 391/391H

  • ES 445/445H
    • Recertified with no discussion needed.
  • NMC 427
    • Recertified with no discussion needed.
  • NR 351
    • Original syllabus was missing learning resources and the writing assignment was not analytical or critical. Most of the specific issues have been addressed regarded the learning resources. The writing assignment was rewritten to fit the category requirements.
    • The instructor addressed the concerns about the concept of the course fitting the STS category by stating that it is open to all majors and has no pre-requisites.
      • The reviewer noted it seems to exclusively focus on the role of science and lacks a multidisciplinary approach.
        • The syllabus does mention discussion about how the media and interest groups affect policy and management
        • Through conversation with the instructor, it was found that there is a large focus on the social science and the impact it has, though it’s not largely evident in the syllabus.
      • The committee did feel that the course was a fit for the category.

Action: Motion to recertify; motion seconded and passed with 9 votes in favor, 0 votes in opposition and 0 votes in abstention.

  • PAX 301
    • The syllabus has greatly improved.
    • BC statement is not verbatim, but that is a small issue and an easy fix.
