CIM Reviews

  • Discussion Needed
    • RNG 470 – Contemporary Global Issues
      • Previous concerns were that it’s unclear what the contemporary global issue is that’s being addressed by the course content.
        • It seems the focus is how pastoral farming communities continue to survive.
        • Suggest that they lead with verbiage for the syllabus – ‘Global issue to be discussed in this course is the potential for pastoral communities to persist’.
      • Other than some confusion around the topic, the course itself seems well put together and there are no serious concerns.

Action: Motion to approve; motion seconded and passed with 9 votes in favor, 0 votes in opposition and 0 votes in abstention.

Science, Technology & Society Resubmission and Review Process

  • Follow-up reviews are coming through – Academic Programs & Assessment (APA) will try to keep the courses with the same reviewers. Review forms are shorter and there will be less material for the reviewers to go through.
    • Materials will be in SharePoint in the ‘Follow-up’ folder.
  • Due date is March 1 for resubmission.
  • Original reviews and decisions can be found in the folders on the left side menu.
  • Baccalaureate Core Committee meeting minutes are posted on the Faculty Senate website if any reviewers would like to look back on previous discussions.
