Category Reviews

  • PH 403 – Thesis (WIC)
    • Lacking Baccalaureate Core verbatim statement.

Action: Recertify, but request that the Baccalaureate Core verbatim statement be added.

  • GEOG 330 – Geography of International Development and Globalization (WIC)
    • None of the submitted syllabi have Learning Outcomes
    • Lacking the verbatim Baccalaureate Core syllabus statement
    • Lacking required assignment chart – must reflect all writing assignments, both informal and formal
    • Syllabus must describe how each WIC learning outcome is addressed in the course and assessed. Outcome matrix may be used. It’s not enough to just list assignments. Some of this information is spread throughout the syllabus, but it needs to be integrated with the WIC hearing outcomes in a way students will understand.
    • The syllabus schedule suggests that the final paper is only submitted once, during week 10. It needs to be clear that students submit a draft of the final paper, receive feedback and are required to revise. Currently, it sounds like revision might be optional.
    • It is not clear what citation format students should use to cite the required sources.

Action: Decertify

  • Math 333 – Fundamental Concepts of Topology
    •  Reviewer not present – not discussed

Category II Proposals

  • WGSS 480 (CGI)
    • Syllabus – student conduct link has been corrected; Ecampus syllabus doesn’t state the number of credits; indicate that the fragrance-free policy is a departmental policy – not an OSU policy.

Action: Dana Sanchez approved this on March 6 and noted the above concerns.

  • AEC 352 – Environmental Economics and Policy (CGI)
    • Reviewer not present – not discussed
  • SUS 325 – Ag and Environmental Predicaments: A Case Study Approach (WIC)
    • Vicki Tolar Burton may request a minor revision in the syllabus for it to be considered a model proposal.

Action: Recertify

  • BI 175 – Genomes, Identities and Societies
    • DPD statement is missing, but the assignment fits the spirit of DPD, and no information regarding how the assignments fit the outcomes.

Action: Will be sent back for above revisions.
