Program Proposal

  • Engineering Management Graduate Certificate, Key #257
    • The narrative is not included
    • The proposal will be returned to ask the originator to include the narrative.
  • Engineering Management Graduate Major, Key #711
    • Their numbers and expected 15% growth rate seems high. They did have a 19% growth between 2021-22 but is that a consistent growth rate? The committee would like to see the growth rate for 2-3 years to determine if there is a trend.
    • Some concern around the tuition.
    • Motion to send back and request justification for the growth rate and clarification around the tuition; seconded. Passed with 5 votes in favor, 0 votes in opposition and 0 abstentions.
  • Science and Technology of Alcoholic Beverages Certificate, Key #725
    • The budget narrative and spreadsheet were included as a single document. It was initially believed that the narrative was missing.
    • Motion to approve; seconded. Passed with 5 votes in favor, 0 votes in opposition and 0 abstentions.
  • Public Policy Analysis Graduate Certificate, Key #827
    • Recurring costs are 5K a year for administrative support.
    • Not all the information needed to assess the proposal can be easily found by the committee, making it difficult to review.
    • Revenue is not explicitly listed, though they do appear to be using some existing resources to teach courses. If that is the case, it should be stated clearly in the narrative.
    • Motion to return and ask the originator to describe the revenue sources and clarify how they’ll fund the program; seconded. Passed with 5 votes in favor, 0 votes in opposition and 0 abstentions.
