Review and Discuss

  • Schools of Accounting, Finance, and Information Systems; Management, Entrepreneurship, and Supply Chain; Marketing, Analytics, and Design #108414 – Establishment of a New Department/School
    • The College of Business (COB) is restructuring into three schools.
    • The change has the support of the faculty. There are no concerns with the budget.
    • The summer salary for the new school heads is appropriate.
    • It looks like there is an error in the formula for cell D21 that needs to be corrected.
      • Drew motioned to approve with change to above mentioned error; seconded; the motion passed with one abstention.
  • Yoga Studies and Yoga Teacher Training #107557 – New Certificate Program
    • This certificate involves multiple programs and existing under-enrolled classes and the budget is not entirely clear. The expected tuition revenue in particular seems low.
    • The costs need to be more clearly defined. Some costs are listed in different places in different parts (under tuition, or under current budget) of the proposal, so it’s not clear how it is being calculated.
      • Corina made a motion to approve with a note requesting clarification of the first-year resource allocation of tuition; seconded the motion passed with one abstention
  • Urban Agriculture #107200 – New Certificate Program
    • The budget seems straight forward.
    • There are questions about using non-credit courses for a certificate but that falls outside of the committee’s purview/charge.
    • It was noted that there is no PACE liaison.
    • If funds are needed they are planning to pull it from course development. There is no way to guarantee that they have access to those funds as they are earmarked for specific use, not for services and supplies. They should plan to pull that from elsewhere if they have a need for it.
      • Send back with questions
  • Online Graduate Certificate in Energy Policy #106319 – New Certificate Program
    • Still awaiting a response from the originator
      • Courses not through the CPS by May 1 will have to start over in CIM.

Other Business

  • Suggestions for upcoming 2020-2021 chairs
  • Is a proxy available for the University Budget meeting on Friday from 2:00-3:30 PM?
    • Amy is available and will attend.
