  1. Welcome and Introductions
  1. Orientation – Vickie Nunnemaker
Several of the below resource materials will be reviewed during the meeting; you may review the other materials at your leisure.
  1. Category I Proposals – Reviewers Needed
    • New Degree Program
      • Creative Writing #106904 – New Degree Program Proposal

  • Engineering #102102 – New Degree Program Proposal
With Budgets & Fiscal Planning 10/8/19; needs CC reviewers
  1. Category II Proposals
The proposals in the attached files will be approved following the October 11, 2019 meeting. Please review the Curriculum Council proposals in the Curriculum Proposal System (CPS) – the purpose of this is to do a peer review of Category II proposals; all courses have already been approved by the relevant college representative. See Information Items below for instructions for accessing the CPS – Janice Nave-Abele will also discuss CPS access during the October 11 meeting.
    • All Category II Proposals
      • 104305 (AG 445) – Social Media Advocacy in Agri Sciences & Natural Resources
        • Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is in the course title and referenced extensively in the proposal justification but there isn’t any reference to either in the syllabus. I’d like to know how this course is specific to Ag Sciences and Natural Resources.
    • Non-course proposals

The proposal in the attached file will be approved following the October 18, 2019 meeting.

  1. AI Course Designator
A new course designator request was sent on June 6, which was after the June 7 agenda was distributed, but none of us saw it come in. Please review the attachment which requests the AI (Artificial Intelligence) course designator.

Both the attachment and a message from the Registrar indicating that AI course designator is available are linked from the CPS at the end of the proposal under ‘Documents’ at https://secure.oregonstate.edu/ap/cps/proposals/view/107499.

This was first discussed on June 7, 2018 but, because some concerns were identified related to the AI Course Designator request, this item will be discussed in October 2019.

  1. 10:00-10:30 – Curriculum Proposal System (CPS) Orientation – Janice Nave-Abele, Academic Programs and Assessment
It may be helpful, particularly for the new members, to bring a laptop or some device on which you can access the CPS as Janice is describing how to access the system.

  1. Report from Co-Chairs – Carol McKiel
  1. Report from Registrar – Rebecca Mathern
