Salary Discussion – Michael Mandzuk, Director Class and Comp
- Discussed salary range spread, which is up to 80% at OSU (normal is 30-40%)
- Salary ranges haven’t been shifted since 2020
- Discussed salary benchmarking process, including comparators, source of data (College and University Professional Assoc. – CUPA)
- Discussed how to differentiate between position levels (not just time in grade or education), must be based upon level of increased responsibility, decision making authority, strategic contributions
- How will OSU educate supervisors regarding options for subordinates?
Approval of May Minutes
- Reviewed and approved minutes from May 17, 2023
Committee Updates
- Committee elected Katheryn Yetter as chairperson and Brad Young will be PFLA ex-officio representative for AY 2023-24.
- Connie Caddis’s, Jennifer Thornhill’s and Katheryn Yetter’s terms on the committee will end June 30, 2023.
Continued Workplan for AY 23-24
- Surveys will be used to gauge professional faculty areas of interest
- Need to communicate regularly but concisely
- Jennifer Thornhill will take the lead on surveys, which the committee discussed and approved
Set AY 23-24 Calendar
- Meetings will occur in Ballard Hall Rm 104, second Thursday every month, 11:00-12:00 PM. Ballard Hall has been reserved.
