  1. COMMENTS FROM FACULTY SENATE PRESIDENT SELINA HEPPELL 
  1. SPECIAL REPORTS
    1. Undergraduate Education Issues
      Alix Gitelman, Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education, will address the following topics:
      • Common Course Numbering
      • Learning Outcomes and Course Updates in CIM
      • Baccalaureate Core Director Search
  1. Baccalaureate Core Revisions 
    McKenzie Huber, Co-Chair BaccCore 2.0 Revision Committee, will discuss the work of the Baccalaureate Core Revision Committee and plans for faculty engagement in the development of a new Baccalaureate Core.
  1. Student Learning Experience Pilot: Winter 2021 Updates  
    Robin Pappas, Advancement of Teaching Committee Chair, will provide an overview of the Winter 2021 SLE Pilot Study Participation data, summarize feedback from the Fall pilot, and describe how the Committee is documenting the pilot process for Faculty Senate member awareness .
  1. BREAK-OUT SESSION
    Following a brief discussion, Senators will join breakout room discussions by Faculty Senate apportionment unit to develop questions for President Alexander. These questions will be emailed to the Faculty Senate Office to send to the President and to prepare for a Faculty Forum webinar on Title IX reporting and accountability and structural changes needed to ensure a safe and equitable OSU.

    1. Under the Orange Light Event
      The next Under the Orange Light Event, “We Have Three Effective COVID-19 Vaccines: What are the Strategies for Dissemination and What are the Hold Ups?”, is scheduled from 5-7PM on March 17 via Zoom. The panel, moderated by Anita Azarenko, consists of Joseph Catania, Peggy Dolcini, Courtney Campbell, Marion Ceraso and Elizabeth Marino. Additional information will be distributed closer to the event date. Under the Orange Light events are sponsored by the Faculty Senate.
  1. Extension of Accommodations Related to COVID-19
    Senior Vice Provost Susan Capalbo has announced 2021 accommodations for academic faculty related COVID-19. Accommodations include extending the tenure clock and the choice to expand the use of eSET scores in annual reviews and dossiers to include spring 2021. A message about these accommodations was distributed on February 17, 2021.
  1. Remote Participation in Faculty Senate Meetings
    Login instructions to participate remotely in Faculty Senate meetings were in the email message containing the agenda. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Faculty Senate meetings will be via Zoom until further notice.
              The Zoom session will open at 2:50 PM on the day of the Senate meeting.
    Senators and proxies must log in with their real names so that attendance can be accurately reflected; if you are a proxy, please indicate the Senator and apportionment unit you are representing.

              The preferred login method is to sign in using the Zoom App. If you are logging in using a browser, Chrome is the recommended choice. Users that cannot be authenticated through DUO will not be allowed to join the meeting.
              Non-Senators are welcome to participate but, to avoid unexpected Zoom incidents, the login instructions are not being published. If you wish to remotely participate in this or future meetings, please fill out the linked Qualtrics survey requesting to participate – you’ll need to provide your OSU email, name and unit (please, no abbreviations). Your OSU email will be subscribed to a listserv to receive Zoom instructions as well as the agenda for future Faculty Senate meetings. If it’s the day of the Faculty Senate meeting, please send a request to Caitlin Calascibetta no later than Noon.

  1. 2021 Faculty Senate Meetings
    Please reserve the following dates for Faculty Senate meetings for the remainder of the academic year. All meetings are scheduled to begin at 3:00 PM: April 8, May 13 and June 10.
              As a reminder, Senators are responsible for finding a proxy to represent them when unable to attend.
  1. Vacancies – Faculty Senator or Committee/Council Member
    Please notify the Faculty Senate Office if a sabbatical, leave or retirement will prevent completion of your term as either a Senator or Faculty Senate committee/council member. If you are away more than one term, exclusive of summer term, a replacement is required. This information will assist us in identifying a replacement.
              If you are unsure when your Senator or committee/council term ends, you may check the Senator membership list or the Committees & Councils site.
