Biography

Dr. Susie Brubaker-Cole has served as OSU’s Associate Provost for Academic Success and Engagement and Director of Advising since August 2008. Susie completed her master’s and doctoral degrees at Yale University in French literature with a focus on 19th- and 20th-century literature and Francophone literature of sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. She earned her bachelor’s degrees summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Washington in French and Comparative History of Ideas. She has studied at the Université de Paris, IV and the École normale supérieure in Paris. Prior to OSU, Dr. Brubaker-Cole served for eight years at Stanford University as Associate Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. She is a native Oregonian hailing from Ashland.
